End of May

Slacking already. I suck.

Let's see.....School got out on Tuesday. Summer vacay, Baby! I would like it, IF it weren't ugly outside, so the kids could play out there. Oh and if the stupid bumble bees would stay away.

It's already the end of May. Kinda hard to believe that!

Last night we had shit weather again. Tornado warning as soon as I fell asleep. Luckily Nicole was on FB (HA!) and we made our way to her shelter. I keep telling her we crashed her late night party. It was fun....11 people and 2 dogs in a shelter. At least we were safe!

Peyton and I made a countdown for his birthday. 26 pieces of paper that we wrote a number on and he's decorating. Tomorrow we start!

We will be having California visitors next week and we are all excited! The kids can't freakin' wait to see Grandma and Papa. Tyler can't wait for some China Garden.

I should probably get my house ready for company, huh? *sigh* I'm so tired of cleaning every.single.day, though. I have to keep the house "show ready" even though we aren't having many showings :/

So, May has been fun, but bring on June!

Crazy weather!

I have no idea why Blogger is being stupid and not letting me rearrange the pictures in the order they should be in. So, sorry....

Monday night (I think it was Monday, lol) I was sitting on the computer, minding my own business. I saw a friend on Facebook posted that we were under a tornado warning. I thought, warning? Last I had checked, it was just a watch.

I checked The Weather Channel and sure as shit, we were under a warning. So, I tell Tyler and we go outside to check things out. We got the dogs inside, took some pictures, and I was texting Mom. The neighbor from down the street was getting his wife in their shelter and came over to talk to Tyler. He said we were welcome to come get in there if we wanted to.

I came inside and got my phone and put the kids in my room, Taryn holding the baby. I went out to look with Tyler and it started raining and the wind was STRONG. We still weren't sure if we were going to get in the shelter or not, but the sky was UGLY. I got the kids, threw Daisy on my back and carried Carley, Tyler had the boys, and we stood on the porch for a minute. The wind pulled on my arm that I was holding Carley with and the sky was swirling and I knew we should go.

We headed out, down the street, in the rain and wind, to the shelter. Taryn opened it and the old couple welcomed us in, helping to get the kids down in there safely. I felt weird at first, but ya know.....I got over it. We were all safe (except my puppies :( ) and that was most important.

We were down there for awhile. 30 minutes, maybe? At one point, we could hear hail (I think) but not much else. I took a few pictures while we were in there, because I had to.

We came out and thanked the couple for letting us hang out with them for a bit and sent the kids to bed. Didn't see much in the way of damage and the storm wasn't over, but it wasn't bad anymore, either.

It was a crazy ass experience. We've lived in Arkansas since December 2008 and this was the first time we had been in a storm shelter. The kids, especially Peyton, were very scared. Peyton was so worried that we would come out of the shelter and have no house and no Bullseye. Taryn said something along the lines of "If the tornado destroys our house, no one will want to buy a pile of junk"...he was calm and wanted to go to bed. Daisy was having fun playing with Sophie the poodle :)

There was some damage, but nothing major at all. Lots of roof shingles everywhere, a mailbox was torn down, some branches and such. Our neighbor's roof is messed up in some spots.

I am thankful everyone is okay, but I was sure scared! Especially since this was the day after the Moore, OK tornado. Look how beautiful it was after the storm, though.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Tyler had softball yesterday and it was too hot for us to go sit in out in the sun. We decided to run to Ace and grab a sprinkler to play in, instead!

I didn't realize it was 90 degrees outside, thought it was more like 80. I was totally wrong and got a wonky sun burn on my arms :/  Good thing the kids were slathered in sun block!

Taryn loves to pretend. He was pretending he was some character from Assassins Creed (a video game he plays). He had a blast squirting everyone with the water gun. Which reminds me, we need to get a couple more of them. One gun for three kids, just doesn't cut it.

Peyton had the most fun running through the sprinkler. He loved drinking from it and thought it was funny to stick his butt in the water, LOL. He also thought "tanning" (or drying off, if you ask me) was "so cool!"

Daisy had fun. She loves to be outside and loves the water. She ran around and "tanned" and squirted the boys with the water gun. It was crazy though, she came up to me complaining about Taryn not sharing and her nose just started gushing blood! I mean, pouring. I couldn't remember if I was supposed to tip her head forward or back, so I just tipped it forward into a towel. I called Tyler, but his phone was in the car and didn't answer, so I called Mom. Man, that was crazy! I think I've only ever dealt with one other nose bleed. She wasn't bothered by it outside, but she refused to touch the towel to put it in the wash.

Carley just hung out in her walker, most of the time we were out there. I put her by the water a few times so she could cool off. I don't think she hated it, but she was glad it only lasted a minute or so, LOL. The last half hour that we were outside, she nursed and took a nap.

Here are a few more pictures. I just love watching the kids play together (when they get along!)

Hot, sunny, summer days are some of my favorite times......It helps my mood stay up and happy and I just love being outside with these crazy kids.
