My little tiger cub

So, Taryn has decided to be part of Cub Scouts.

He is a tiger cub, first year and starting out at the bottom.

We met with the troop leaders and the other boys that were signing up and he was SO excited. Matthew and two other friends of Taryn's are also going to be part of Cub Scouts. That's pretty awesome.

We need to order him a uniform shirt, but I think we have to go to Fayetteville to get one.

His first "troop" event will be walking in the fair parade tomorrow! Tyler will be walking with him. YAY!

Back to school

Yesterday was the kids first day back to school. Peyton back to preschool and Taryn first grade! They were both super excited to go.

I laid out there clothes the night before so we wouldn't have to fuss in the morning trying to find something to wear.

Both boys wore their new shoes and I think they were more excited about that than anything. Crazy kids!

Taryn started at regular time, 8am but Peyton didn't start until 9am. So, we went to Walmart with Helen and passed the time.

I walked Taryn into his classroom and dropped his school supplies off at the desk and sent him off to breakfast. He didn't want to eat at home. He never does, actually, lol.

Taryn was a little nervous that he would go play on the playground and when it was time to go in, he wouldn't know where to go. So, we asked his teacher and she told him what to do, then all his nerves went out the window! He said that he was late and couldn't play, but now he knows where to line up.

Peyton got in his classroom and went right to playing. He was excited to see Becca and Austin. I forgot to feed him breakfast, oops!, but I guess he did ok, anyways.

Taryn rode the bus home and said he had a great first day and "I'm a FIRST grader now, Mom!" It was cute.

Tyler went in and got Peyton, because that's what he wanted. He said he made new friends and didn't get in trouble, ha!

It's hard to believe I have a first grader and a preschooler. My kids are growing up way too fast!

Daisy piggies

Daisy's hair is finally growing out. It's still curly (at almost 15 months) and still pretty red, in the sun. It's long enough now, to put two super duper cute pig tails on top of her head and still have bangs swept to the side! I cannot get enough of her piggies! Taryn tells me "Sis is THE prettiest baby I have EVER seen!" Yes she is!

Mmm Mmm good! :)

Best. Snack. Ever.

Nacho Cheese Doritos, shredded mild cheddar cheese, and yum yum Tapatio!

I've been eating this for a (super unhealthy) snack since I first started hanging out with an old friend, Tara. We used to eat them every Friday night while her parents went out for pizza.

GO HOGS!

We ventured into Springdale this weekend for The Annual Tyson Softball Tournament.

It was hot! Seriously, if there wasn't a breeze, I probably would have died. IDK how the guys got out there and played like they did.

I'm not sure how many games they played. Three? I think it was three. I don't know, there were breaks in between and we had to go to the hotel to check out and then to lunch, etc., etc. I do think they won one game, though!

We drove up there with Emily, Tyler, and Halsey. We took Helen and Joe's Excursion, so we could all ride together. THAT was fun! LOL On the way back, Emily's brother rode with us.

We got to hang out with Nicole (and Dillon!) and a big group of us went out to eat at Steak 'n Shake. It was our first time there and Tyler and I both really liked it! It was cheap, too.

While we were there, we got the boys school shoes and a few other things for school. The Children's Place had a REALLY good sale and I got two pairs of shoes for Taryn for $2.99 each and sunglasses for the boys for $.99.

Roaring River State Park

We went camping Friday and Saturday. We stayed at Roaring River State Park in Missouri. It was BEAUTIFUL there.

We had fun, but it was hot and we got a little cranky, lol....It was REALLY, REALLY hot. We spent most of our time in the freezing cold river because it was SO damn hot outside.

Tyler, Emily, and Halsey went with us. Glad we had good company. The kids LOVED playing in the water. The boys fished a couple times, but didn't catch anything. Tyler and Tyler caught the boys a bunch of sculpins and a couple crawdads. The boys caught minnows and found lots of nasty things.

A bat stayed the night on Tyler and Emily's tent! Creepy little sucker!

The campsite was perfect. #157. It was shady and big and even had some grass!

Oh and we went to the hatchery and got to see a TON of fish! The boys threw food out to them and we all watched them jump up and get it. There were some huge fish. We went to the cave and saw the little water tornado (from a drain) that the kids thought was awesome.

I'm so happy we went and will definitely do it again, when the weather is nicer!
